Lost in Austen - Charlotte Lucas

I found this movie/series excruciatingly painful the first time though but I barely noticed the second time.
I'm certain that Jane Austen would not have sentenced Charlotte Lucas to life with that particular Mr Collins. Though Jane Austen did not agree with Charlotte's choice to marry for money I know she held her in higher regard than to leave her to such a fate.
